Tips About Visiting France:
PASSPORTS, VISAS, INOCULATIONS: All participants must carry a valid passport. Notify us at time of enrollment if you are NOT a U.S. citizen, so we may advise you properly. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of your trip. At present there are no visa/special inoculation requirements of U.S. citizens visiting France.
LUGGAGE: Our participants are limited to one moderate-size suitcase per person plus one small carry-on. The carry-on must be light enough to be carried by you at all times. We suggest that you travel with a suitcase with wheels, as there may be certain times where there are no porters available and where you may have to handle your own luggage.
WEATHER AND CLOTHES: Early/mid October is usually a nice fall
weather, but it could be cooler or cold at night. Plan on wearing
comfortable, casual clothing for most activities. We recommend to bring
one nice dinner outfit for dining out in “upscale” restaurants
occasionally. Please bring a warm coat, raincoat, hat, gloves and
comfortable shoes, but leave your jewelry and other valuables at home.
SMOKING: This is a NO-SMOKING trip within our group. However, we cannot assure you that locals or travelers from other countries whom we may encounter will be non-smokers.
AIRFARE: If you need to purchase your airfare you may wish to check Air France at www.airfrance.us
TRANSFERS: We do not provide transfers to and from the airport in France, however you may wish to contact Hotel Therese directly, as it does provide transfer services for additional charge. We will provide some online links if you need help arranging the transfers.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: While we fully recognize that the decision to purchase (or not to purchase) travel insurance is a personal one, we would be remiss if we didn’t strongly urge you to protect yourself with travel insurance. Travel insurance is a composite of coverage for your cancellation or interruption of the trip, baggage loss or damage, accident/sickness medical expenses and emergency medical transportation (medivac). It is particularly important if you are on Medicare, since Medicare does not cover events requiring medical attention that occur outside the borders of the U.S.
OTHER INFORMATION: Further information on packing hints, cameras, money exchange, shopping, addresses abroad, helpful on-line links, and other matters will be sent to participants after enrollment.
